Johnstown Christmas

Last weekend was our Christmas with my Dad’s side of the family.  We spent Sunday in Johnstown visiting with relatives we haven’t seen in a while.  This was the first time for many of them to meet Caleb.  We had such a great time with the gift exchange and visiting.

Our Christmas Tree

We quickly realized how busy we were is December and that we still needed to get a Christmas Tree!!!  Our only time was the weekend Jason had drill.  Sunday he got home around 4 and we had to get to the Christmas Tree farm, pick out our tree and purchase it all before 5 when they closed.  I love to go and walk around the farm and cut down our own tree but around here many people seem very content in getting a pre-cut tree.  We walked around the farm but found that they good ones are pre-cut of course so they can charge you more!!  We were able to pick out one and pay for it before they closed!

Cops for KOPS

In the beginning of December Adam was playing in the Cops for KOPS charity hockey game.  Since Jason had drill Caleb and I made the trip to the Giant Center in Hershey to meet Pap, Gigi and Aunt Tenille.  As you can see by the score below the PA Cops team lost pretty bad to the NYPD team but it was still fun as it was for charity.  Adam did have 2 assists!!  Caleb got to meet Cocoa the Hershey Bears mascot!!  He wasn’t so sure about it and I quickly snapped a picture before he started to cry!!

Uncle Adam is #9

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays for the good food and time spent with family.  It also the last time I can really relax until after Christmas!  Caleb had a great first Thanksgiving hanging out with all his relatives.  We had a very busy day spending time with Jason’s Dad’s side of the family for lunch and his Mom’s side for Dinner.  We then spent Saturday with my side at Adam and Tenille’s house.

4 Months

I can’t believe it but my little man was 4 months in November.  At his check-up he of course got more shots which he didn’t like, but who does?  He weighed in at 13.6 lbs (15%) and was 25 inches long (44%).  The pediatrician gave us the go ahead to start solids, so we started him on oatmeal.  The first time he wasn’t so sure about it but after that he got the hang of it and really likes it!!  He is absolutely the best baby and still really only fusses when he is hungry.  The ladies at daycare always fight over him and want to take him home with them!!!  It sure makes me feel good to leave him which such great caregivers that love him so much.

Caleb’s First Snow

Well, we got our first snow storm on the year in October, yes it is not a typo October!!  I don’t think Caleb enjoyed is very much!!  He might have liked it better if we would have gone outside after his nap!!

Caleb at 3 Months

Caleb was 3 months in October.  Yes, it has taken me this long to post these pictures as the days go by so fast since I don’t get home until 5 and Caleb goes to bed around 7:30.  My little man is getting so big and I enjoy every minute watching him grow and do new things.  He is such a pleasant baby, they only time he really cries is when he is hungry and let me tell you he lets everyone know it!!  He is getting pretty good at lifting his head on tummy time and still only rolls from tummy to back on a rare occasion.  I have a feeling he will become mobile before I know it!!  He is such an absolute joy and I couldn’t ask for a better baby.  I think he is just ensuring he is not a only child!!!!

First Night Away

Last weekend was our first night away from Caleb.  He got to spend the night with Pap and Gigi (my parents).  A friend of ours from college was getting married is Pittsburgh, PA so we spent the night at a hotel.  I knew that Caleb was going to be in good hands, but I was definitely going to miss him. I left my mom with detailed instructions (probably more detailed than needed but it made me feel better!!).

We left about 8:30 in the morning on Saturday and about a half and hour into our three hour trip I turned to Jason and said, “I miss him already!”  We had a great trip and it was awesome to be able to catch up with a lot of our friends from college.  I woke up about 7am Sunday morning but refused to get up since we didn’t have Caleb.  We left about 10am and got home about 12:45 just after my parents and Caleb got back to Church.  It was nice to spend sometime just Jason and I but I was glad to get home and see my baby!!

He was great for Pap and Gigi and I think (actually I know) they really enjoyed having him.  Every time we spend time with them and get ready to leave they want to know when the next time they will get to see him!!  He is so lucky to have such great grandparents on both sides of our family.

Caleb’s Dedication

On September 18th Caleb was dedicated to the Lord.  I know this happened about a month ago but it seems like every time I want to post on here something else comes up and then I forget about it.  We are so grateful for this little gift from God.  He is an absolute blessing from above.

Now I went shopping to find a nice outfit for this special occasion and let me tell you it was hard to find a nice, cute newborn outfit for a boy.  If we had had a girl I could have bought like 10 outfits that would have been so cute.  Maybe is a good thing for our wallets that we have a boy!!

So, before we had Caleb we would always run into church just before it started.  Now we have to get up and get their earlier, to get him situated before going into the sanctuary.  This is our life now, getting up earlier and taking longer to get ready, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!!  This Sunday we had to be there even earlier to meet with the Nursery Director and the Pastor to go over names and what to do once we got on stage and so forth.  Our caravan of like 5 cars made it just in time.  Once Caleb was dedicated we took him back to the Nursery for the first time and of course we was great and slept the whole time!!  We joined the rest of our family for the remainder of the service.

We were so excited to share this day with so many of our family members.  Some of Caleb’s great grandparents, grandparents and aunts and uncles made the trip to share in this special day.  We had a wonderful day and thank everyone one for their generosity and spending the day with us.

2 Months

Well, I am finally getting around to posting Caleb’s two month pictures now that he is almost three months!!  It has been crazy since he turned two months.  I have gone back to work and Caleb has started daycare.  Now that I only get to spend a couple of hours with him in the evening, that is all I want to do and so my evenings go by so quickly.  The first day back to work was a little rough.  I had to get up to speed with everything I missed and reprogram my brain for work.  Leaving Caleb at the daycare for the first time was really hard, I left the room crying but it gets better with every passing day.  The ladies that take care of him are awesome and he does great there.  It does make me feel a little better that the daycare is on base where Jason works so if there is ever any problems, he is right across the street.

At Caleb’s 2 month check-up he got 4 shots and took it like a champ.  It seemed to bother me more than him!!  We was 11 lbs 8 oz (40%) and 23 1/2 inches long (63%).  He obviously didn’t get his height from me!!!  He has also started to smile as you can tell in the pictures below.  I love his little smiles and could stare at him all day!!  He has also started cooing every now and then and has found his fingers!!  He no longer wants a paci and will suck on his two middle fingers just like his uncle Adam did.  He still is not a big fan of tummy time (He has to be is the “right” mood) but did roll over two days in a row but I think they were flukes because he hasn’t done it since.  I couldn’t ask for a better sleeping.  He has been sleeping about 6-7 hour stretches at night since he was about 4 weeks old.  Now that I am back to work he sleeps from 8:30pm to 5:30am.  I have to wake him up pretty much every morning to get him feed and ready to leave with Jason by 6:15am.  He is growing so quickly and can’t believe how fast the time is going.
